SOUTH WEST THATCHING CORNWALL THATCHERS
Large scale thatching projects to small restorations
Here at South West Thatching we cover the whole of Cornwall and beyond, as hugely enthusiastic young men, who are truly passionate about our trade, we seek to go that extra mile to deliver what we and many others believe to be the highest standard of thatching in Cornwall. We look past the run down attire of the roof which is essential compost in its dying days and work to transform the thatch into some of our finest work yet, questioning at every stage how we can improve the design, shape or style to suit the individual buildings heritage. Unlike many others in our trade your buildings interests are at the heart of what we do. We have been lucky enough to work on such projects as the Pandora Inn, The Queens Wendy House at Windsor Great Park and thatching for the National Trust and Tregothnan estates.
During this time we have learnt more than most about proper conservation for cob walls, timberwork and thatch. Putting these techniques into every job we do means you can rest assured that your property is receiving the best possible treatment if we undertake the re-thatching process. We have been working incredibly hard over the past few years to help educate thatch roof owners of correct sustainable methods of thatching in Cornwall, which in some areas of the job have been neglected especially in our county. In recognition of our efforts, we were officially accepted into the Devon and Cornwall Master Thatchers Association, the first Cornish thatchers in decades to be accepted and the only current association members in this part of Cornwall.
